The Baltimore Orioles DFA Matt Angle
The Orioles have designated 26-year old lefty swinging outfielder Matt Angle for assignment. Angle played in 31 games for the Orioles last year in his first taste of the majors, and he was 14 for 79 (.177 avg, .559 OPS) with 12 runs scored, 1 homer, 7 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. He also played in 108 games in AAA-ball last year and he was 115 of 424 (.271 avg, .692 OPS) with 67 runs scored, 4 homers, 33 RBIs and 27 stolen bases. The Orioles needed Angle’s roster spot for newly signed reliever Luis Ayala.
