The Baltimore Orioles sign Dennys Reyes

The Orioles have signed 34-year old lefty reliever Dennys Reyes to a minor league deal. Reyes pitched in 4 games (0 starts) for the Red Sox last year and he was 0-0 with a 16.20 ERA and a 2.40 WHIP. He has now pitched in 673 games (40 starts) in his first 15 years in the majors and he is 35-35 with 4 saves, a 4.21 ERA and a 1.55 WHIP. Reyes has had a couple of good years in his major league career, so this is a nice low risk/high reward signing for the Orioles.

UPDATE: (3/3/2012) - The Orioles have released Dennys Reyes. He was having visa issues and had yet to show up at the O’s spring training facility. This isn’t much of a loss for the Orioles.
