The Orioles have signed 29-year old righty reliever Ross Wolf to a minor league deal. Wolf pitched in 56 games (0 starts) in AAA-ball for the Astros last season and he was 4-3 with 3 saves, a 4.76 ERA and a 1.49 WHIP. Wolf last pitched in the majors back in 2010 with the A’s. He has now pitched in 25 games (0 starts) in his first two years in the majors and he is 0-1 with a 7.92 ERA and a 1.80 WHIP. Wolf will be a longshot to win a job in the O’s pen this spring.

The Orioles have designated 25-year old lefty swinging outfielder Kyle Hudson for assignment. Hudson played in 14 games for the Orioles last year in his first taste of the majors and he was 4 for 28 (.143 avg, .286 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 2 RBIs and 2 stolen bases. He also played in 119 games in A+AA+AAA-ball last year in which he was 125 of 423 (.296 avg, .711 OPS) with 60 runs scored, 0 homers, 23 RBIs and 41 stolen bases.
