The Baltimore Orioles sign Wei-Ying Chen
The Orioles have signed 26-year old lefty starting pitcher Wei-Ying Chen to a 3-year deal. Chen pitched in 25 games (24 starts) for Chunichi out of Japan last year and he was 8-10 with a 2.68 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP. He pitched in 117 games (88 starts) in his four years in Japan and he was 36-30 with a 2.48 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP. The Orioles are leaving no rock unturned in trying to add some zip to their starting rotation.
