The Orioles have sent 25-year old righty swinging 1B Brandon Snyder to the Texas Rangers for cash considerations. Snyder played in 6 games for the O’s last year and he was 3 for 13 (.231 avg, .719 OPS) with 2 runs scored and 1 RBI. He also played in 114 games in AAA-ball last year in which he was 117 of 448 (.261 avg, .718 OPS) with 55 runs scored, 14 homers, 71 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Snyder played in 16 games in his two years with the Orioles and he was 9 for 33 (.273 avg, .715 OPS) with 3 runs scored, 0 homers and 4 RBIs. This isn’t much of a loss for the Orioles going forward.

The Orioles have acquired 26-year old righty swinging outfielder Jai Miller from the Oakland A’s for cash considerations. Miller played in 7 games for the A’s last year and he was 3 for 12 (.250 avg, .750 OPS) with 2 runs scored, 1 homer and 2 RBIs. Miller also played in 110 games in AAA-ball last year and he was 113 of 410 (.276 avg, .956 OPS) with 81 runs scored, 32 homers, 88 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. Miller has now played in 28 games in his first three years in the majors and he is 16 for 68 (.235 avg, .655 OPS) with 7 runs scored, 2 homers, 6 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Miller could be a late bloomer, so I like this pickup for the Orioles.
